The Illinois Youth Soccer Association received an Innovate to Grow Grant from US Soccer (USSF) that our Hawthorn Woods Elite Soccer Club will be taking advantage of to offer a FREE US Soccer First-Time Referee course at our home fields of Heritage Oaks Park (310 N. Fairfield Rd, Hawthorn Woods, IL) to the first 15 registrants from Hawthorn Woods Elite Soccer Club & WAYSC.
IMPORTANT DETAILS:
- When: Saturday, July 20th, 2024
- Time: 9:00am-12:00pm
- Where: Heritage Oaks Park – 310 N. Fairfield Rd, Hawthorn Woods, IL
- Who: Any child between the ages of 13-17
- What is included:
- FREE US Soccer First-Time referee course for course the first 15 eligible participants aged 13-17 who are not USSF licensed referees
- Hawthorn Woods Elite Soccer Club will receive 15 grants to be given to the first 15 eligible participants – must be members of Hawthorn Woods Elite Soccer Club or WAYSC
- Half off the cost of a 10-piece Score brand Referee Starter Kit that is available only through the IYSA Store website for course participants who earn the USSF First-time referee license (The Kit includes referee jersey, shorts, socks, game coin, high impact whistle, wrist lanyard, solid flags, data wallet set, badge, sport bag) – LINK
- Two pre-season webinars by the ISRC for the Course Participants who earned the USSF First-Time Referee license
- Free one-time USSF referee recertification for Course Participants who earned the USSF First-Time Referee license and officiated IYSA Member League games
- Referee mentorship opportunity at IYSA approved tournaments for the Course Participants who earned the USSF First- Time Referee license
- How do I sign up? Send an email to Hawthorn Woods Elite Soccer Club with your child's name, age and guardian contact information by July 7th. The free 15 grants will be provided on a first-come basis and will be confirmed via email response to you. Once the official registration link is available on the US Soccer SITE we will share with you (after July 1st).
- Online course completion – in addition to the in-person course on July 20th, each participant is required to complete 6 hours of online training by Monday, July 23rd (once registered online, you will have access to these online courses) - it is strongly recommended to have the online courses completed before the July 20th in-person course.
